You are readers, authors, wanderers, consumers, producers, arbitrators, artists and citizens. You both labor and live in cities. You are part of the massive network of the city but you can also make it crash. While simultaneously holding a cup of coffee and strolling the streets, you scan the news on your mobile phone and exchange ideas with others. You write comments and criticize, agree or observe. You understand the city through somebody else’s eyes, ears, and mouths. You already live in the city and meet it, but you can also live under the shadow of the city as well. You always walk and run somewhere, ride or attempt to ride something. You read signs on the street, then forget or remember. A sign on the street seems like a wi-fi password. Somebody hands you a flyer. You dispose of it on the street. Paper is everywhere.
A city is an image, sound, scent, and yourself. You buy food ingredients for dinner in the market, search recipes with your mobile phone, and realize the images in your kitchen. You take a picture of food and store it again in your mobile phone. People like, don’t like, or ignore your food pictures. You eat dinner and take a walk. The person who likes your food photo on Instagram is coming towards you. Instead of talking with him (or her), you go into a newly-opened cafe. In there, many people are watching their phones already. They communicate with somebody with taken photos. As soon as you enter the cafe, you check the wi-fi password and access the internet. You upload the cafe picture again and glance at the mobile phone next to you. He (or she) also upload the cafe picture somewhere. You read a web-toon and rate it with stars or ignore it. You are a flowing gas, a liquid, and a solid through wi-fi. A city is a wi-fi, and wi-fi password for you. To know the password, you consume the city.
