Bookshops 서점들

Typojanchi 2013
Seoul International Typography Biennale

August 30–October 11

"Bookshops is a temporary bookshop opening during the Typojanchi 2013. In fact, it is a “hub” of ten small-scale, independent bookstores from around the world. The invited bookstores are all different in terms of size and context, but they do share a similar spirit of independence and experimentation. Bookshops attempts to identify the conditions under which these struggling agents of culture are operating, and initiate a dialog with them. A selection of books from the invited bookstores are displayed, and the conversations between them and the Book Society on the issues of autonomy are presented. Bookshops sheds light on a material base of design and publishing, and provide a perspective on the global situation of independent culture."
