베를린에서 활동하는 작가 김혜영은 2010년부터 '비행장(Airfield)'을 주제로 한 회화 연작을 선보였고, 이것을 한 권의 책으로 담았다. 책은 크게 두 부분으로 나뉘어져 있다. 본문의 시작과 끝에는 헬싱키, 슈코네펠트, 베로나, 테겔, 템펠호프 도시의 비행장 모습이 흑백의 이미지로 실려있고 그 가운데 김혜영의 회화 연작이 컬러로 보여진다. 작가에게 ‘비행장’은 현대적이고 국제적인 삶과 자유의 상징이자 다층적인 감정과 흔적을 지닌 독특하면서 미적인 공간으로 인식된다. 그곳에는 철, 강철, 콘크리트와 같은 인공적인 재료뿐만 아니라 강렬한 형광색으로 인간이 표시한 표지기호가 놓여있다. 흡사 장식적인 효과를 자아내는 이러한 컬러와 아스팔트의 질감은 창작의 영감이 되어 작가의 캔버스 안에서 변형되고 축적된 자국들로 남겨진다.

1980년 서울 출생. 2008년부터 베를린에서 거주하며 작업하고 있다. 한국예술종합학교 조형예술과를 졸업했고, 현재 베를린공과대학의 문화과학기술사 석사과정에 있으며 동시에 방문학생(visiting student) 자격으로 베를린미술대학에서 회화를 공부하고 있다.
The artist Hyeyoung Kim currently working in Berlin, has performed a conversational composed song about 'Airfield', and this has been become a book. The book is divided in two parts. The beginning and the end of the content contains black and white airfields images of Helsinki, Schonefeld, Verona, Tegel, Tempelhof cities, and within these, Hyeyoung Kim's converstational composed song stands out as color. Hyeyoung Kim
Born in 1980, in Seoul. Has been residing and working since 2008. Graduated moulding arts from Korean Arts University, and currently doing masters cultural science technology of Berlin Engineering University, and at the same time learning German as a status of a visiting student. www.oneofkim.com
