류한길 Hankil Ryu
뮤지션이자 사운드 아티스트인 류한길은 일렉트로닉 솔로 프로젝트인 '데이트리퍼(DAYTRIPPER)'로서 두 장의 솔로 앨범을 발표하여 평단의 호평을 받았으며 2004년부터 근본적인 영역으로서의 음향과 즉흥성에 기반한 다양한 형태의 사운드, 미디어 작업에 관심을 느껴 2005년 3월부터 2008년 12월까지 미디어 연주회 'RELAY : Free Improvisation Meeting'의 기획자 / 연주자로 활동하였 다. 보편적 악기가 아닌 시계태엽, 타자기, 전화기와 같은 '버려진 사물들'의 내부 진동음에 입각한 음악 구조를 만들어 나가는 방식등을 연구하고 있으며 오토모 요시히데(Otomo Yoshihide), 제이슨 칸(Jason Kahn), Dieb13, 타쿠 수기모토(Taku Sugimoto), 토시마루 나카무라(Toshimaru Nakamura), 타쿠 우나미(Taku Unami), 마틴(Mattin) 등과 같은 국외의 아티스트들과의 활발한 협업작업을 통해 활동의 폭을 넓히고 있다. 현재 오토모 요시히데(Otomo Yoshihide)의 아시안 네트워크 프로젝트인 FEN(Far East Network)의 멤버로서 활동을 진행하고 있으며 자주출판 레이블인 매뉴얼(manual)을 설립, 실험적 음반과 자주 출판물들을 발표하고 있다.

A typewriter proficient at ‘hostile writing’ was handed to a person who wants to write something.
This dead yet living monster proves itself its unique tenaciousness.
Even the sound that the monster makes is itself a history.
Everybody knows the monster’s name and the monster’s history.
However, the records of the monster’s motion were nowhere to be found.
A person who wants to write something is fascinated by the monster’s hostile proficiency.
A catastrophe brought about by the person’s choice is being gradually visible.
It is his or her own choice, but the person starts to think how the consequences are avoidable,
at the same time.
To record a record that does not exist.
Only thing can be recorded is a certain tone.
A tone that functions as a trigger that differently operates.
